We live in rather politicized times
Everyone has an opinion on Modi
Everyone debates about secularism
People are cocksure about Muslims
Sigh, they think they know Hinduism
Veer Savarkar is a name bandied
One is no longer sure about Gandhi
Ambedkar for some is a rallying cry
Some wonder if Nehru was a Muslim
JNU is Just Not Understandable say some
Fascism is a fashionism on some lips
There is talk of genocide of u-know-who
All along earthquakes happen routinely
Almost as if God were having hiccups
Looking at how polarized India is
Now movies are boycotted or labeled
We know all too well the religion of actors
Babri Masjid and Ram Mandir are paramount
However damned be the human hearts,
For every Godhra an Ahmedabad happens
Kashmir anyway has always been on fire
Kashmir pandits are an inconvenient Truth
Somewhere in all this politicizing and polarizing
We have forgotten how to love one another.
