Up above in the clouds
Somewhere in the sky over India
I hang by a slender thread
To I, me, myself as the ego
With just memories tying me now
To the earth below and my life there
When kaboom, in an instant
I could vanish from existence
Into God-knows what other plane
Should my plane's engine catch fire
And I die in a blaze before, much before
I can even so much as feel any regret.
Such being a possible outcome
Isn't it time to let go of my obsession
With I, me, myself as the ego.
