15 Sayings of Mine

“The Awareness by which you are knowing the thoughts, feelings, emotions, the physical body and the world, that Awareness is your true self, and not the thoughts, feelings and emotions comprising the mind, nor the physical body. The ego-I is merely a thought-being produced by the mind, which identifies with the thoughts, feelings, emotions, and the physical body as being its own.”

“The sense of ‘I Am’ is a reflection of Awareness in the mind. When that ‘I am’ becomes ‘I am this’ and ‘I am that’ as in ‘I am tall’, ‘I am angry’, ‘I am thinking’, etc., through identification with the body, thoughts, feelings, and emotions, it is termed the ego. Isolating the ‘I am’ from ‘this’ and ‘that’ and paying close attention exclusively to that isolated ‘I am’ is the path to Truth as per Nisargadatta Maharaj, which makes sense if you ponder over it.”

“The march of humanity in history could be characterized as the march towards the realization of the religious ideal of ‘Love they neighbour as thyself’. All problems in life, including economic inequality and the wars, are a result of our failure in achieving that ideal.”

“However much you enjoy life, at the end you will be left with only more thirst for enjoyment and will be no closer to the Truth. The only way of understanding the Truth of life is to defocus from one’s so-called wants and wishes.”

“Freedom does not come from possessing many things. Freedom is freedom from the want to possess.”

“Only when the love for Truth increases, the love for pleasure decreases.”

“Love marriage also is an arranged marriage because God arranges the circumstances for the love to happen.”

“Man is God pretending to be not God.”

“The world is superfluous.”

“The ego is too much trouble.”

“That which moves the breath in and out, also makes the mind think, the tongue move, and the body act.”

“A loving heart is superior to all the Vedas.”

“The culmination of all knowledge (Vedas) is love.”

“We live in an age where the Baniya is respected more than the Brahmin.”

“The Brahmin is dead. We are all Baniyas now.”
