The Unreality of It All
Unreal the body, unreal the mind,
Mere names and forms are they,
Sensed by Me the Real;
Unreal the thoughts, unreal the feelings
Mere names and forms are they,
Sensed by Me the Real;
Unreal the desires, unreal the dreams,
Strung as they are on unreal body-mind,
Comprising unreal thoughts and feelings,
Sensed by Me the Real;
What truck have I with these,
Body-mind/thoughts-feelings/desires-dreams,
None, oh, none at all,
Space-and-time appear in Me the Real,
Dwell I though beyond space-and-time.
The Leela of Children
Unburdened by thoughts
See how how the children play
No thought of the yore or morrow
Maybe no thought of any kind
Just exulting spirit at play
Smiling and laughing at ease
Almost God-like.
On Watching the Movie “Freud’s Last Session”
I have an inkling
The heaven is here on earth itself
In sensual and intellectual tickling,
And the hell, too, is here itself
When no one and nothing tickles us.
“The Kingdom of Heaven is Within”
Said someone at some time
And I lie on Freud’s couch
Seeking the within
Only to find the mind
Well-layered into childhood
And some say even beyond;
The within seems all about me.
Betwixt the without of heaven and hell
And the within of nothing but me
There is some talk of God;
I tell them I have looked everywhere
Both on the without and in the within
And found not God
But only Heaven, Hell, and Myself;
Then one man smoking a cigar asks
Who was the one who was looking
At the without and the within?
What Part of ‘No’ Don’t I Understand
My marriage proposal to her
Two years back over an email
Never did get a reply at all
Back in the day when I loved her
And she also seemed to love me
Is perhaps now time long past
That can never be retrieved back
Even if the old flame is rekindled
In this golden sunset years of ours
It might only cause too much regret
Of time lost in the arms of loneliness.
On a Friend’s Conjecture
O friend, consider me thou
Dumb or devilish
To take many more lives
Before I understand the Truth
“At all levels”,
Perturbed not am I amigo
No, not the least bit;
It matters not how long
A dream lasts;
On waking up
One only laughs merrily.
