This world is a rotten place
Its redeeming features few
Love also always asks this
“What’s in it for me?”
Scarce are the resources
Very vast is our greed
We cannot rest content
Insatiable are our wants
Restless are our minds
Petty are our hearts
Each is out for himself
Economists approve this
And fashion their theories.
