What is the Origin of Desires, Thoughts and Actions?

The world that comes into existence for the fulfilment of one’s desires through thoughts and actions has its origin in ignorance.

But, ignorance of what?

Ignorance of one’s own identity.

How so?

This whole world is just a mela of names-and-forms, including the body-mind with which one identifies as oneself due to ignorance.

The moment one circumscribes oneself to a body-mind, desires are inevitable because of the limitations of and the dangers posed to the body-mind.

Desires lead to thoughts, which in turn lead to speech and other actions by the body.

The only way out is to realize one’s true nature through understanding the truth about this, which puits an end to ignorance, and hence also the sense of doership in the mind though the speech and other actions of the body may continue without any identification with it by the mind.
