Aww, Shucks!

One friend tells me with concern
“If only you let go of words and concepts,
And actually ‘lived’ life”.

Another friend sends me a quote
By none other than Nisargadatta Maharaj
(In response to my ChatGPT essay on God, Truth and Reality):
“The Real is behind and beyond the words, incommunicable, directly experienced, explosive in its effect on the mind. It is easily had when nothing else is wanted.”

Both seems to be holding me guilty
Of being too much in love
With mere “theory”.

But I sort of shudder a bit
To explain myself to them
In any manner whatsoever
Lest it lead to interminable
Philosophical discussions

And thereby in a strange way
Accepting their counsel

And yet maybe
I do not necessarily agree with them
Because
A theoretician is also “living” a life
Albeit as a lover of words and ideas
And when the understanding of that theory
Leads him to silence
He may yet “experience”
Whatever it is that he is supposed to experience.

But, I will never tire of saying
All this “living” and “experiencing”
Is still a part of the dream
A part of the illusion

Because
The pot is already clay

Oh, oh…
There I go again…

Ssshhh…
Don’t speak more
Lest you be misunderstood.
