Lighten Up, Marx

Marx took the world far more seriously than is warranted.

That is why he wrote in the Communist Manifesto, “Violence is the midwife of an old society pregnant with a new one.”

He could have instead been far more good-humoured about it and wrote, “Guys, it is time we changed our ways” instead of exhorting us to make heads roll.

Gentleness works.

The flower blooms without any noise or commotion.

Like Jesus, love should be preached.

If the world does not listen, so much the worse for it.

Marx should have given “peace a chance” instead of his constant sullen and bitter mood that kept exhorting others to violence and bloodshed.
