A close relative asked me on WhatsApp, “Do you agree with him about the feeling after meditation yourself?” in response to this YouTube video I shared with him: “How to be HAPPY: The Himalayan Musk Deer Story” posted by MeditateWithRishi.
I replied as follows:
Yes.
But, I have meditated only very few times in my life.
But, a few times when I have meditated, I have experienced a rare feeling that is difficult to describe except as a detached peace and happiness.
Like a few days back when I did the “I Am” meditation, after a little while I experienced a detached feeling from my body-mind.
But, strangely for some reason or another I am getting drawn into some activity/engagement with this world.
I will see if I can regroup myself to meditate more consistently and regularly everyday now that I am retired.
The distractions are mostly my own pull to write something or just getting sucked into watching or reading something when I browse YouTube or internet.
Maybe the trick is to cut off any digital engagement after a couple of hours in the morning after catching up with the news.
I will see if I can switch off my laptop and mobile for the greater part of the day except for a couple of hours in the morning.
