Iski Maa Ki Kirkiri (or, Who Am I?)

How did I come to be
This me that I am now
What past has shaped me
Karma? Tut, tut,
How did the first karma take place
When I was born first
Before any past could shape me
What is the "I" that was there
When I first took my first breath
In my very first life
Either in this kalpa or in the one before
Or in some other kalpa, God knows when,
When I had not done any karma?
Contemplating this conundrum
I can only go "iski maa ki kirkiri".
