How I relish this freedom
Of anonymity and aloneness
I am known to many doubtless
Well, not that many if you ask me
Only some “know” me
And even they do not “know” me
Do I “know” myself is a question
That I know not how to answer.
Ignoring such uncomfortable questions
I am loving remaining in hiding
The only kind of anonymity and aloness
That I can snatch in this society
In which I cannot but exist
Knowing how well and nigh impossible
Survival is on your own
Yet to survive in this society
Sometimes one has to be
Anonymous and alone.
