While it is true that the heart beats

That sometimes it beats for someone
We have to see through in this play
It is the beating that is significant
Not the “someone” that it beats for
The “someones” may come and go
But the beating continues on and on
So, do not seek to know desperately
Why it beats for that special someone
Understand why it beats at all ceaselessly
That understanding cannot be side-stepped
Whether that “someone” is with you or not.
