What the Future Holds for Me

Chetan Bhagat famously remarked that the so-called “Today’s Aspirational Youth” of India aspires for only two things in life, “Naukri aur Chokri”.

Come to think of it, such aspirations are not too far off the mark because naukri maps into artha and chokri maps into kama of the purusharthas.

After all, haven’t all the sages from Maharshi to Paramahamsa to Maharaj remarked pretty much the same thing when they declared the world to be “a drama of woman and gold”.

But, now that I am no longer young, I was wondering what am I aspiring to these days especially because I have fully retired recently.

Just this (unless that thing about “if you want to make God laugh tell him your plans” comes into play):

Sit like a log whole day without stirring a thought or feeling in the mind.

This seems to be an experiment worth carrying out to see what its outcome would be.
