The curtain is falling
On my eyes
Little by little
So said the optometrist;
But I knew it all along
That some day
The curtain will start to fall.
In the end
How many sights can one take in
And what can one make of them
Unless some theory comes to your aid
But as theories go
There is no telling
Which is right, which is wrong;
One is kind of glad
When the curtain starts to fall.
