“All barriers down, absolute freedom” — To my friend Sanghamitra Mandal aka Sana

Yes, I do agree
“To understand the scheme of things
You need not be religious
It comes to you when you are chosen.”

But, I do not understand
Your fascination for this Einstein-like dreaming
“Of flying through stars, universe, light, at incredible speed”
As you say you have felt it twice,
Much less do I understand
Your “I just wanna live many lives with this knowledge”
Where “My mind is an open slate to write on by theosophy, science, ultimate evolution…”

You say you have suffered
Maybe more than me you have suffered
And yet you seem to say
“O suffering, where is thy sting?”

Laughing Buddha you seem to be
But the Buddha I have read
And the Buddha written about
Wasn’t he more gravitas
In his self and in his demeanour?

I’m sure your eyes are no strangers to tears
Though strangers may not have seen them

And, yet, your Whitmanesque “yes” to life
While Nietzsche may approve
I feel flies in the face
Of what I have deciphered about life

I have none of your Zorba the Greek spirit
Schopenhauer is my coffee buddy.

Pardon me, but I do not want to be born again
And in your next life you might miss me
And then you might view life less kindly
When your friends are thus hid
In the heart of things.
