I Await Thy Nudge

My friend, dear, dear friend
You who do some tinkering
With people’s behaviours
Playing with their psychology
So that you can set societies free
Land them in the land of a-shoka
Little profits it thee to turn so cynical
Or maybe you believe in syllogism
Nudging people in the directions
They never wanted to go
All for their own good you claim
Like you know what is The Good
That Plato wanted us all to know
And yet even if I grant you
The freedom that you so cherish
Can you not countenance a nudge or two
That will push people over the precipice
Of what they consider they consider as reality
So that although love is a four-letter word
In this world that we inhabit, this damn world
Might it not be the case that we might land
In some other world beyond that precipice
Where we will indeed find love and truth?
