“Oh what a tangled web we weave/When first we practice to deceive”

Here is an email I sent out to family (note that I am a bachelor) and friends:

Shakespeare wrote, “Oh what a tangled web we weave/When first we practice to deceive”.

Nevertheless, I have taped-up my front-room window (see image), so as to not let anyone know I am at home because I will not be answering the doorbell, but some of you persistent ones might otherwise keep knocking until I open if you think I am indeed at home but not opening the door. I know you guys are intelligent and if I do not open the door you will call me, so I have kept my mobile on vibration mode, so you will not hear the phone ringing nearby for you to check if I am at home. How devious I am!!! I have to be because despite my saying I am not answering anyone’s calls, some of you have been calling me again and again.

Why am I doing it? I remember reading in the book “Living with the Himalayan Masters” about a monk who used to throw stones at passersby so that they would think he was crazy and would leave him alone to meditate.

Some of you might remark, “You silly fellow, you are the one disturbing us with your constant emails, etc., and we are not bothering you in any manner.” And that would be quite an accurate remark, but I would only slightly disagree in that I was not trying to disturb you guys but sharing some knowledge and wisdom which I thought you could put to use if need be. But, since I have shared almost everything worthwhile that I could, I do not see much else useful (in my opinion) knowledge and wisdom that I could share, so I doubt if I will email again.
