I feel she had the best and amazing voice, but sadly now she is battling a rare condition called Sensorineural Hearing Loss (SNHL), which severely impacts her auditory nerves. The veteran playback singer first revealed the diagnosis in 2024, stating the hearing loss was abruptly triggered by a sudden viral attack, forcing her to step away from public life and singing.
Sensorineural Hearing Loss occurs when the delicate hair cells inside the inner ear or the auditory nerve—which carries sound signals to the brain—are damaged. Because these cells do not regenerate, hearing loss from this condition is typically permanent, affecting sound clarity and quality.
