Sri Dakshinamurthy Stotram | Sri Adi Shankaracharya | English Translation | Advaita Vedanta

Sri Dakshinamurthy is an aspect of Lord Shiva, the Teacher of all the Worlds and Bestower of Jnana (wisdom required for self-realization). Dakshinamurthy Stotram was composed by Sri Adi Shankaracharya in praise of the Guru of All Beings, without whose grace jnana cannot be obtained. The Stotram explains the nature of Brahman (the One Reality), Atman (the Self) and the Jagat (world) using the philosophy of Vedanta. Repeated chanting of the stotram and meditating on its meaning will help a spiritual practitioner clearly understand the non-dual (Advaitam) nature of Reality.
