The Melancholic Me?

Am I melancholic?
A few people keep saying I am
Maybe better a melancholic
Than an alcoholic
But seriously, what’s the problem
Why this constant demand
For happiness always? What is so great about it?
And melancholy might also have
Some lessons to teach us
And he who understands life
Will he not become melancholic?
Melancholic not necessarily for oneself
But melancholic about the whole drama of life
Where suffering abounds in every nook and corner
Though sprinkled life be with some joys.
