I am slowly beginning to wonder whether there are two kinds of love.
The first kind of love seems to be one spawned by the mind, one which is fuelled by desire that is born from the calculations and machinations of thinking which in turn is the one so conditioned to do so by one’s past, by tradition, by culture, by society, etc., which is why J. Krishnamurti would often say that our minds are “conditioned”.
The other kind of love is perhaps born when the thinking mind falls silent and the heart begins to speak, and that silence is one of “feeling”, and feeling is far removed from the din and bustle of the marketplace, much closer to one’s own inner being, closer to the truth.
But, often this “feeling” is hijacked by the mind for its own purposes, and thereby corrupts the feeling to an extent.
Unfortunately, all of us seem to be reaching for love with our minds rather than with our hearts.
