Yeah, I could turn out to be that–
Belonging neither to God
Nor to Caesar, God rest his soul;
I who resist any method, any path
As if I do not want to close my eyes
Even for a second even if it be
To see the Truth that I’ve always longed for
What is that Truth that exists
Unseen, nay unseeable, by my eyes
How can its reach not extend
Into the field of the vision of my mortal eyes
What Truth is that that has to hide
Somewhere far away from this world
Hide somewhere far away from me
Those in the know say that’s the way it is
(Or say that in some elliptical way)
I say I am not in the know so I do not know
If what they say be true, and besides
Who’s to say there are not infinite paths
To that Truth that is itself infinite
That which is everywhere, what path can be there
And if one does travel a path, be it any path,
Do not all the paths take you there, when
It’s everywhere; think, my dear, think.
