Stepping Out of the Hobbesian World

We reach out to the “Other”
In all our relationships;
The Other keeps appearing
Almost only as the Other;
This otherness bothers us
Almost in a Hobbesian way;
We too remain in our otherness
So the Other, too, keeps seeing
This world in an Hobbesian way;
This State of Nature oppresses
Which no covenants can dissolve
Except the covenant without swords
Where the covenants are unsigned
As one recognizes oneself
In all the Others.
