Slowly all hope is getting drained from me that I can see any good times here on earth, either in this life or in some other future life, infected as I am by a vision into the reality of things.
In this mortal realm, where everything is in a Heraclitean flux, holding on to anyone or anything is sure to bring in its train suffering of one kind or another sooner or later.
Kshanikam, kshanikam, kshanikam / Anityam, anityam, anityam — as Buddhism points out.
If one can live unattached like a lotus in mud, even amidst the impermanence one can thrive.
But living like a lotus comes about only upon discovering the truth.
And, to discover the truth one has to turn one’s back upon the world realizing the suffering that awaits one due to the impermanence with which everything, without exception, is shot.
When one embraces the world without having realized the truth, attachments are bound to form and where there is attachment how can one escape suffering in this realm of impermanence.
